In January of 2013 Dana Frobig traveled to Kabul, Afghanistan, where she was part of the Winter Music Festival at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music. It is, indeed, a very special place that was greatly in need of her instrument repair services. She brought with her a whole shop's worth of tools and supplies, and spent 15 days at the school not only setting up the shop and repairing instruments, but also training the school's future repair technicians. The students and faculty received her with open arms, and were very eager and excited to learn from her and now posses the supplies they greatly need. It was a very rare, and special experience, and Dana was extremely honored to help set up the shop. The repair shop will enable the Afghan students to continue with their studies and no longer be inhibited by malfunctioning instruments. Dana hopes to return to ANIM this year to continue training the shop's repair technicians. This repair shop is the first of its kind in Afghanistan.
